Information Stands

We will be running a stand at a few events between now and the Hobby Show. The stands will promote the show and be a place for potential exhibitors, volunteers and visitors to get information on the show and the association.

The first show will be at Mt Victoria Great Train Weekend on 26th and 27th May. We will be in the park and there will be attractions all over the town so it is worth a visit.

Next we will visit the Back to Back Wool Challenge at Turpentine Tree Kurrajong Heights on 3rd June. The Back to Back is a very successful fund raiser for Cancer research and so worth your support.

Lastly we will be at Windsor Markets in the Mall at Windsor on 1st July. The markets are on every Sunday and are a great destination for a day out.

Everyone is welcome to drop by and view a small display on our stand and ask any questions. Members are reminded that if you can help out on any of these days please let us know.

Exhibitor Applications Closing Soon

After the end of this month we will only accept further application if there is a vacancy. Currently the hall is full but there is plenty of room in the grounds.

There is a waiting list for space in the hall. Those who have reserved space but not confirmed their requirements need to contact us asap to avoid losing their spot. Confirmations for successful applications will start being sent out soon.

The grounds have plenty of room with vehicles, machinery and re-enactment exhibits already booked in. There will be the usual range of refreshments available too.

Donations

Each year Hawkesbury Model & Hobby Show donates all the profit made from the show to the community. We are proud to have donated in excess of $8500 over the last few years to various organisations.

As an enquiry was recently made regarding the distribution of these donations, we would like to detail how they are handled. Normally the donations are made directly to the recipient group, however this is not the case with the donation made to CF NSW.

Each year there has been a stand promoting the work of CF NSW and raising funds for them. This stand is run by Jeanette Hill and Juliette Curl and is registered with CF NSW as a fund raising activity. It is part of a program of activities they organise each year. It is pleasing that the visitors to our event are so generous that the stand raises more than the donation we make to them. Our donation is made through the stand not directly to CFNSW. While CF NSW is aware of our donation they do not list it separately in their annual report each year. In future the HMHS donation will be listed separately.

2012 Major Recipient Announced

Hawkesbury Model & Hobby Show is pleased to announce that the major recipient of this year’s show will be Secret Garden and Nursery at Richmond. Secret Garden is a special place that unfortunately really is a secret. It needs the support of the community if it is to keep providing its service to the community.

HMHS is pleased to be involved with Secret Garden and hopes the Hawkesbury will join us in providing them the support they need.

Displays of collections, models and art and crafts are welcome. There is no charge for those putting on displays. Inside and outside sites are available. Vehicles and machinery welcome. Demonstrations are particularly popular.

There is room for a small number of hobby and collectible traders too as well as community groups, historical and special interest groups.

If you don’t have a display but would like to be involved volunteers are always welcome, see the Member’s page for details.
