2011 -2012 Office Bearers Elected

After the Annual General Meeting the committee met to elect the office bearers, as required by the existing rules.

Bill Maguire was elected to the role of President. Paul McDonald and Jennifer Piggott agreed to share the Vice President’s duties. The incumbent Treasurer and Secretary, Jeanette Hill and Jim Dean respectively, were re-elected.

2011 AGM

The agm was held last night and all the proposed business was successfully conducted. The attendance was a bit lower than most meetings.

The retiring committee members were re-elected and the vacancy that had existed for the last year was filled. Jennifer Piggott was elected to fill the vacancy. The committee will meet soon and appoint the office-bearers.

The proposed amendment to the new constitution was accepted and the amended constitution was then passed. This will change the way the committee is elected in future and also reduce the size of the committee. It will not change the organisation of the show, it is only an administrative change.

The forum brought up a few suggestions to improve future events and these will be followed up at subsequent meetings.

Lost Property

We still have in our possession a couple of items of unclaimed lost property. They are a remote control / keyless entry fob and a digital camera. If you think these may be yours please use the private contact form on the Members Page to contact us. You will need to provide some proof of ownership, a good description of the item will be a good start.

No Bus Rides

Each year the Sydney Road Transport Museum has provided vintage bus rides in conjunction with our event. Unfortunately this year this popular attraction won’t be available due to circumstances beyond the control of SRTM. SRTM and HMHS apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Exhibitor List and Plan Updated

The exhibitor list for the 2011 show has been kept up to date on a regular basis but a new feature has been added. The hall plan is now available. It shows the approximate location of all the stands in the hall. The stand numbers have been added to the list too. The stands with numbers over 47 are in the grounds and so aren’t shown on the list.
The usual fine print that although correct at time of posting the list and layout may change (and often do!).
Go to the 2011 Exhibitor List to access the plan.

Back on Track

It was announced earlier that the Friends of Australiana Pioneer Village were to be the major recipient of the profits of this year’s show. At a recent meeting between representatives of both organisations it was agreed that the donation should be directed to a specific project. The nominated project was the restoration of the railway. The train was a popular attraction in the past and restoration to operation would be a welcome event.

This is a large project that will require a lot of time and money but it is hoped that the show will get the project off to a great start. We are excited to be involved.

The Friends of the Village will have a stand at the show and will be able to answer any questions you may have on the village and the railway. There some photos of the Village including an aerial show showing the railway here. (Unfortunately the building used as the station is mislabelled as Kurrajong Railway Station when it is in fact the former Kurrajong Goods shed.)
