Membership of Hawkesbury Model & Hobby Show Inc. is now open to anyone who would like to be involved in organising and running the show. This is a great way to help the local community as all profits will go back to the Hawkesbury. We need a wide range of people to help both on the weekend and during the lead up to the show.
As the association’s financial year and therefore the membership year runs from 1st August until 31st July this year you can join now and not need to renew until August 2010. That’s 15 months membership for the price of 12.
The application form can be found on the Membership Page. It requires a nomination from an existing member. If you have any problems with getting this part filled in please contact us using the contact form on the Membership page.

One of the secrets of a successful exhibition is to find the right balance of exhibits between old favourites and new and exciting displays. Each year the Hawkesbury Model & Hobby Show has a number of new exhibits and this year is no different.
Among the débutantes this year are the Hawkesbury Camera Club with a photographic display and the Hawkesbury Astronomical Association. We also introduce a display of themed postcards.
Of course there are some favourites returning including the popular Kurrajong Comleroy Historical Society who produce something different each year.
There are some exhibits who only attend occasionally and this year we welcome back the fine model railway “Back of Beyond”.

The committee has met and elected the Office Bearers who will hold office until the AGM. A new committee will be elected then and that committee will elect the Office Bearers for the coming year.

The new logo
We have been given a logo for our association. This is a another great step forward for us.
A logo can say much more than just our name and this one shows the variety of exhibits that can be seen at our event.
A big “Thank You” to Carolyn Cooper for taking the time to design it.

As of today Hawkesbury Model & Hobby Show has become an incorporated association under the Association Act here in NSW. This is a step we have been working towards since we decided to form a separate association back in December 08.
We are now going through the tasks of setting up bank accounts, post boxes, domain name and the rest of the things we need to exist.
This won’t affect the planning for this year’s show though. That is going on all the time.

Blokes Day at Hawkesbury Hospital has become a popular and successful event over the last few years and its back again this year. Held in the grounds of the hospital it has a wide variety of exhibits of interest to well blokes!
It will be on 14th June from 10 to 4 at the Hospital in Day Street Windsor. So mark your calenders now.
