The first show will be at Mt Victoria Great Train Weekend on 26th and 27th May. We will be in the park and there will be attractions all over the town so it is worth a visit.

Next we will visit the Back to Back Wool Challenge at Turpentine Tree Kurrajong Heights on 3rd June. The Back to Back is a very successful fund raiser for Cancer research and so worth your support.

Lastly we will be at Windsor Markets in the Mall at Windsor on 1st July. The markets are on every Sunday and are a great destination for a day out.

Everyone is welcome to drop by and view a small display on our stand and ask any questions. Members are reminded that if you can help out on any of these days please let us know.

There is room for a small number of hobby and collectible traders too as well as community groups, historical and special interest groups.

The retiring committee members were re-elected and the vacancy that had existed for the last year was filled. Jennifer Piggott was elected to fill the vacancy. The committee will meet soon and appoint the office-bearers.

The proposed amendment to the new constitution was accepted and the amended constitution was then passed. This will change the way the committee is elected in future and also reduce the size of the committee. It will not change the organisation of the show, it is only an administrative change.

The forum brought up a few suggestions to improve future events and these will be followed up at subsequent meetings.

Volunteers Needed

Do you have ideas how to make the 2012 Show better? If so we need you. Our small group organises and runs the show each year and we welcome anyone who can give us a hand. You don’t need any special skills just a willingness to lend a hand. See the Membership Page for more details.

All the profits from each year’s show are donated back to the community. This year the major recipient was the Hawkesbury Hospital Auxiliary. We also made donations to St John Ambulance in the Hawkesbury and to Cystic Fibrosis NSW.

At the Hawkesbury Hospital Fete held last Saturday HMHS President Paul McDonald presented a cheque for $3600 to Hawkesbury Hospital Auxiliary President Lorraine Hill. In total HMHS donated over $5000 to the local community from the proceeds of this year’s show.

We are looking for people who can help organise the event. You don’t need any special skills just a desire to be involved. We are a friendly group who meet for an hour or two each month on average, less this time of year but more often closer to the event. Applications for exhibitors will open later in the year. The forms will be added to this site then. If you would like to be invited to exhibit please contact now with details of your exhibit. Displays of hobbies, collections particularly those with action, demonstrations etc. are especially welcome. We also have room for traders of collectibles, crafts and hobbies supplies.

We spent the day at Windsor Markets promoting the show by handing out flyers and talking to the visitors. It was a cool start but we got a warm welcome. The display board showing several of the exhibitors attracted a lot of attention.
Thank you to those members who helped out during the day and to the market organisors for letting us attend.

Any members who are available on the day are invited to give a hand even if just for a short time.
