At a recent committee meeting the current office bearers were re-elected unopposed. This will provide continuity in the administration of the association.

The Annual General Meeting was held last night and while attendance was less than expected it was a productive evening.
The new committee was elected. The committee members are
Paul McDonald
Jeanette Hill
Jim Dean
Kevin Smith
Ron Painter
there are two vacancies at the moment. The committee page will be updated after the committee has elected the office bearers.
After the meeting a members forum was held where some general issues were discussed. It was agreed that regular Member’s Meetings will be held. The date for the next meeting will be announced after the venue has been booked.

One of our biggest supporters, Richmond Vale Railway, has suffered a huge loss with the theft of nearly a quarter a million dollars worth of equipment. RVR has attended every Hobby Show we have staged and we are very disappointed to hear they been hit like this.
They are a volunteer organisation which can’t afford this sort of a set back. Hopefully some or all of the stolen items will be recovered.
Have a look here for more info.

We have just confirmed the attendance of Kustom Rodz at this year’s Hawkesbury Model & Hobby Show. Kustom Rodz have real but miniature Hot Rod that anyone (well anyone over 6 years) can ride. They are petrol powered vehicles that can be driven around. They are appearing at the Hobby Show for the first time and are sure to be popular.

The public meeting on 22nd April was a great success. Although the attendance figures were a little disappointing the meeting went well.
After the president welcomed everyone and introduced the committee he gave an overview of the history of the show, it is our fourth year! He then explained the background to the new association and its aims. The secretary provided some details on things like finances. Next both shared talking about the plans for this year, exhibits, promotion etc. Membership was discussed last.
The meeting was thrown open for discussion and there were quite a few topics raised. The committee will look into them at future meetings. Ways of promoting the show were also discussed. Several members offered to distribute flyers at other events. This is a very successful way to promote the show as word of mouth is the best form of advertising. Another subject was members helping on the weekend of the event.
The meeting concluded with supper and there were several lively discussions going on over the coffee and biscuits. It was good to see everyone getting involved. The whole night was very positive and must be considered a success with some new members and lots of good ideas.
